The Evansville Otters (10-7) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 2-1 to the Normal CornBelters (5-12) on Thursday.

While the Evansville Otters led until the fifth inning, the Normal CornBelters worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Brian Bistagne.

Cole Brocker brought the heat against the Evansville Otters during his outing. Brocker held the Evansville Otters hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Zach Petersime ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
