The River City Rascals (4-3) didn't stand a chance on Friday, as the Gateway Grizzlies (6-1) captured a blowout 9-2 win at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.
The Gateway Grizzlies scored three runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Niko Vasquez and a two-run home run by Richard Seigel.
Vasquez racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Gateway Grizzlies.

Aaron Newcomb improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered seven hits.
Cory Caruso couldn't get it done on the mound for the River City Rascals, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.
