The Washington Wild Things (10-4) built an early lead against the Frontier Greys (2-12), scoring four runs in the first inning, en route to a 5-3 win on Thursday at CONSOL Energy Park.
The Washington Wild Things scored in the first on an RBI double by Stewart Ijames, an RBI double by William Beckwith, an RBI double by Beckwith, and an RBI single by Scott Kalamar.
Ijames had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.
Tim Flight got the win for the Washington Wild Things thanks to six strikeouts. Flight allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks over seven innings.
Cameron Monger was solid at the plate for the Frontier Greys. Monger went 3-4 and scored one run. He tripled in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth and eighth innings.
Justin Jackson (0-3) took the loss for the Frontier Greys. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
