The Florence Freedom (7-7) built an early lead against the Washington Wild Things (10-4), scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 6-2 win on Friday at UC Health Stadium.

A three-run home run by Sam Eberle delivered the runs in the first. The Florence Freedom had three hits in the inning.

Eberle racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom.

Dave Middendorf picked up the win for the Florence Freedom. Middendorf pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk while striking out three.

Chris Phelan was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
