Nkosi Djehuti-Mes had two extra base hits, helping the Atwater Aviators (11-15) to a 6-3 victory over the South Bay Storm (15-11) on Sunday at St. Marys College.

It was a good day at the plate for the South Bay Storm's Jesse Medrano. Medrano went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.

Brent Backlund recorded his fifth win of the year for the Atwater Aviators. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Backlund struck out four, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Clayton Nodal (2-1) took the loss for the South Bay Storm. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The Atwater Aviators were sparked by Lance VanNoy and Djehuti-Mes, who teamed up for four hits and five RBIs.
