Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Sunday as the Alameda Merchants (22-19) outscored the Atwater Aviators (17-28) 17-15 in 12 innings.
The teams totaled 42 hits in the game.
Michael Echavia racked up five RBIs on four hits for the Alameda Merchants. He homered in the first inning, doubled in the fifth and seventh innings, and singled in the eleventh inning.
The Atwater Aviators couldn't get anything going as long as Daniel Reitzler was pitching. The Atwater Aviators managed just one hit off of the the Alameda Merchants' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 3 2/3 innings of work.
Kyle Treadway (3-1) took the loss for the Atwater Aviators. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
The Alameda Merchants pounded the Atwater Aviators pitching, as six hitters combined for 19 hits, eight RBIs and 11 runs scored.
