Matt Johnson went 4-4 at the plate, sparking the Walnut Creek Crawdads to a 7-3 victory over the Alameda Merchants (19-19) on Thursday at TBD.

He singled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, homered in the sixth inning, and tripled in the seventh inning.

Caulfield picked up the win for the Walnut Creek Crawdads. Caulfield allowed three earned runs, nine hits and three walks while striking out three over nine innings of work.

The Alameda Merchants were led by Jesse Lewis's hitting. Lewis went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Dean Aliamus couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Alameda Merchants, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
