The Alameda Merchants (17-18) jumped on the Healdsburg Prune Packers (24-14) early on their way to a 5-2 win on Sunday at College of Alameda, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Alameda Merchants scored in the first on an RBI single by Christian Leung and a two-run double by Dominic Morbidelli.

Morbidelli had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.

Nick Hudson racked up seven strikeouts in the the Alameda Merchants win. Hudson allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk over six innings.

Yoshi Uemura was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just eight innings, walked five, struck out eight, and allowed five runs.
