Both the Humboldt Crabs and the Alameda Merchants (24-22) put runners aboard on Tuesday, but it was the Humboldt Crabs that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-2 win at Arcata Ballpark.
Marcus Williams paced the Alameda Merchants at the plate. Williams went 3-5 and scored one run. He singled in the first, second, and seventh innings.
Hatch improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Humboldt Crabs. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered seven hits.
Juston Dea (0-2) took the loss for the Alameda Merchants. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
