Michael Echavia powered the Alameda Merchants (14-17) at the plate and on the rubber Saturday, willing the Alameda Merchants to a 21-7 victory over the Nevada Big Horns.

Echavia had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the first and sixth innings, doubled in the seventh inning, and tripled in the eighth inning.

Echavia put together a nice outing. Echavia gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

The Alameda Merchants stamped out any hope for the Nevada Big Horns (8-25) with six runs in the ninth. The Alameda Merchants scored in the ninth on , , , , , and a fielder's choice.

Zach Cortese boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 5-5 day at the plate to pace the Nevada Big Horns. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third, fifth, seventh, and ninth innings.

Andrew Herrera got his second win for the Alameda Merchants despite allowing six runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered nine hits.

Robert Ortega couldn't get it done on the hill for the Nevada Big Horns, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked two and struck out one.

The Alameda Merchants hammered the Nevada Big Horns pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 16 hits, nine RBIs and 16 runs scored.
