Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The California Warriors make the most of 6 hits in 4-3 victory over the Alameda Merchants

Story by Narrative Science.

The California Warriors (18-10) and the Alameda Merchants (11-14) both threatened with rallies, but it was the California Warriors that eventually took advantage of them in a 4-3 win at College of Alameda.

The fact that the California Warriors grouped all of their runs into the second inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

Trevin Haseltine pitched lights out for the California Warriors. The Alameda Merchants managed just one hit off of Haseltine, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Jordan Grubbs put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Alameda Merchants. He homered in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and doubled in the ninth inning.

Alex Fernandez recorded his second win of the year for the California Warriors. He allowed two runs over four innings. Fernandez struck out one, walked none and gave up four hits.

Nick Hudson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
