The Alameda Merchants (6-4) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Bercovich Collegiate, recording an 11-2 victory on Wednesday at College of Alameda.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Alameda Merchants left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI double by Phil Clark, a wild pitch, and during the first inning and an RBI triple by Clark and a two-run double by Michael Echavia in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Alameda Merchants.

Clark put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Alameda Merchants.

Peter Nyznyk had an impressive outing against the Bercovich Collegiate's lineup. The Bercovich Collegiate managed just two hits off of Nyznyk, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out seven during his six innings of work.

Pullman was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked five and struck out one.
