Gordon Deacon went 3-3 at the plate, sparking the South Bay Storm (3-1) to a 7-2 victory in seven innings over the Alameda Merchants (2-2) on Sunday at College of Alameda.

Michael Echavia pitched lights out for the Alameda Merchants. Echavia held the South Bay Storm hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Gabe Katich got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over five innings. Katich struck out three, walked two and gave up five hits.

Ricky Delgado (0-1) took the loss for the Alameda Merchants. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
