NATE HEATH collected three hits, sparking the Skagit Valley (16-20) to an 8-4 victory over the Shoreline (9-23) on Sunday at Meridian.
He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.The Skagit Valley relied on JAVIER VILLANUEVA to eat up innings en route to the win. VILLANUEVA allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out three over 7 2/3 innings of work.
Jacob Zanon paced the Shoreline at the plate. Zanon went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the eighth innings.
Mike McCormack ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
