An outstanding effort by Blake Mitchell lifted the Edmonton Prospects (12-13) to a 4-0 win over the Regina Red Sox (14-9) on Tuesday at Telus Field.
Mitchell held the Regina Red Sox scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out six.
Vinny Martin had two extra-base hits for the Edmonton Prospects. He doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Labradford Griffis (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
