The Big Bend get 4 strikeouts from Letkeman in 6-0 win over the Spokane

Story by Narrative Science.

An ace performance by Reign Letkeman carried the Big Bend (17-14) to a 6-0 win over the Spokane (17-15) on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.

Letkeman held the Spokane scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up four.

Five runs in the first three innings helped the Big Bend blow out the Spokane. A two-run single by Fredericksen Brett during the first inning and a solo home run by Wade Ryan, an RBI single by Signorelli Dylan, and a sacrifice fly by Wagner Kyle in the second inning fueled the Big Bend's offense early.

It was a good day at the plate for the Big Bend's Mitchell Darlington. Darlington went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.

Blake Phelps was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
