A five-run explosion in the fourth inning spurred the Lower Columbia (22-6) to a 9-0 win in seven innings over the Green River (4-22) at Heritage Park on Sunday.
Justin Jacobs had two extra-base hits for the Lower Columbia. He doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.
The Green River couldn't get anything going as long as Jacob Cogar was pitching. The Green River managed just one hit off of Cogar, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out three during his four innings of work.
Gabe Ihrig recorded his second win of the year for the Lower Columbia. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Cody Whitemarsh (1-3) took the loss for the Green River. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed one run.
