Three first-inning runs helped the Alameda Merchants (19-18) to a 6-2 win over the San Francisco Seagulls (15-21) at College of Alameda on Wednesday.
The Alameda Merchants scored in the first on an RBI single by Michael Echavia and a two-run double by Wyatt Foreman.
Echavia went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Alameda Merchants.
Peter Nyznyk kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the San Francisco Seagulls batters. Nyznyk allowed one earned run on three hits and three walks over six innings.
