Three first-inning runs helped the Alameda Merchants (19-18) to a 6-2 win over the San Francisco Seagulls (15-21) at College of Alameda on Wednesday.

The Alameda Merchants scored in the first on an RBI single by Michael Echavia and a two-run double by Wyatt Foreman.

Echavia went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Alameda Merchants.

Peter Nyznyk kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the San Francisco Seagulls batters. Nyznyk allowed one earned run on three hits and three walks over six innings.

Michael Eagan couldn't get it done on the hill for the San Francisco Seagulls, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
