An ace performance by Gabe Katich hoisted the South Bay Storm (4-3) to a 6-3 win in 12 innings over the San Francisco Seagulls (1-3) on Saturday at Fairmont Field.
The San Francisco Seagulls had no answer for Katich, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The San Francisco Seagulls managed just one hit off of Katich, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his eight innings of work.
Marcus Wise got a hit in each of his four at bats. He singled in the first, third, and seventh innings and doubled in the ninth innings.
Tim Gretter got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over 3 2/3 innings. Gretter struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.
Julian Garcia (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
