An ace performance by Drew Van Orden led the Santa Barbara (CA) Foresters (2-0) to a 5-0 win over the Wellington (KS) Heat (1-1) on Sunday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Van Orden put together a nice outing. Van Orden gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.

Louie Lechich racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Santa Barbara (CA) Foresters. He tripled in the eighth inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.

MATT ROYAL (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
