The Central Valley Bears came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 4-1 ballgame against the Alameda Merchants (27-10) on Monday.

The Alameda Merchants took the lead in the eighth inning on a groundout by Andrew Hobson.

JR Davis racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Alameda Merchants. He singled in the first innings and tripled in the eighth inning.

Ricky Delgado pitched lights out for the Alameda Merchants. Delgado held the Central Valley Bears hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Dustin DeLaCruz couldn't get it done on the hill for the Central Valley Bears, taking a loss. He lasted just eight innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
