Error proves costly as the Northwest (WA) Honkers falls to the Colorado Sox, 9-4

Four first-inning runs helped the Colorado Sox (1-1) to a 9-4 win over the Northwest (WA) Honkers (0-2) at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Sunday.

Mitch Gibbons paced the Colorado Sox at the plate. Gibbons went 2-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the ninth innings.

The Northwest (WA) Honkers had no answer for Braden Ham, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Northwest (WA) Honkers managed just one hit off of Ham, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out five during his seven innings of work.

Jason Salers couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Northwest (WA) Honkers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out six.
