The Swift Current Indians (1-0) jumped on the Weyburn Beavers (0-1) early on their way to a 6-1 win on Wednesday at Mitchell Field, scoring three runs in the first inning.

Danny Clifford racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Swift Current Indians. He doubled in the first and fifth innings and singled in the seventh inning.

Anthony Armanino racked up 11 strikeouts in the the Swift Current Indians win. Armanino allowed no earned runs, five hits and one walk over seven innings.

Dusty Kerns boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Weyburn Beavers. He singled in the second, fifth, seventh, and ninth innings.

Ben Moore was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
