Billy Martin held the Moose Jaw Miller Express (0-3) scoreless for six innings to boost the Medicine Hat Mavericks (3-0) to a 11-3 victory.

Martin allowed four hits, no walks and struck out eight.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks blew out the Moose Jaw Miller Express thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. An RBI single by Garrett Wiese and a three-run double by Grant Silva helped the Medicine Hat Mavericks score four runs in the second. The Medicine Hat Mavericks had three hits in the inning.

Wiese put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Medicine Hat Mavericks.

Dustin Caplette was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked two and struck out three.
