The White Sands Pupfish fall to the Trinidad Triggers 1-0

Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Ernesto Zaragaza could carry the White Sands Pupfish (26-39) past the Trinidad Triggers (35-31) at Aquarium on Monday as the White Sands Pupfish suffered a 1-0 defeat.

It was a good day at the plate for the White Sands Pupfish's Zaragaza. Zaragaza went 2-2. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

The Trinidad Triggers couldn't get anything going as long as Zaragaza was pitching. The Trinidad Triggers managed just two hits off of the the White Sands Pupfish's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out six during his six innings of work.

The White Sands Pupfish had no answer for Chris Tuttle, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The White Sands Pupfish managed just two hits off of Tuttle, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Scott Elitzky recorded his third win of the year for the Trinidad Triggers. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Zaragaza (2-3) took the loss for the White Sands Pupfish.
