The Alameda Merchants (30-13) and the Nevada Big Horns (15-16) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the Alameda Merchants capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 7-3 win.

Roger Luna put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Alameda Merchants. He tripled in the second inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Myles Wesener boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Nevada Big Horns. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.

Joel Deporte recorded his fifth win of the year for the Alameda Merchants. He allowed three runs over six innings. Deporte struck out six, walked one and gave up 11 hits.

Scott Benton couldn't get it done on the mound for the Nevada Big Horns, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out three.
