Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the Nevada Big Horns (10-11) outscored the Alameda Merchants (21-10) 15-9 in seven innings.

The teams totaled 23 hits in the game.

The Nevada Big Horns blew out the Alameda Merchants thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Nevada Big Horns scored seven runs in the fifth on , an RBI single by Mickey Phelps, , an RBI single by Corey Metoyer, a sacrifice fly by Michael Gruber, a double by Brandon Metroyer, and an error.

James Young had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.

Sam Eichler got his third win for the Nevada Big Horns despite allowing seven runs over six innings. He struck out one, walked five and surrendered 11 hits.

Taylor Gamboa was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in two innings, walked five and struck out none.

Young, Metroyer and Phelps helped lead the Nevada Big Horns. They combined for seven hits and eight RBIs.
