The Bourne Braves uses big fourth inning to beat the Wareham Gatemen, 11-4

The Bourne Braves (13-14) rolled over the Wareham Gatemen (6-23) 11-4 on Wednesday at Doran Park after a six-run rally in the fourth inning.

Even in defeat, Cole Sturgeon played well for the Wareham Gatemen.

Sturgeon put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Wareham Gatemen. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second inning.

The Bourne Braves' lineup had no answer for Sturgeon. Sturgeon gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Mark Laird racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Bourne Braves. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and sixth innings.

Jack English brought the heat against the Wareham Gatemen during his outing. The Wareham Gatemen managed just one hit off of English, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Jacob Lindgren got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over two innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Andro Cutura ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in three innings, walked one and struck out three.
