Joe Armstrong both hit and pitched well for the Alameda Merchants (16-6), but it wasn't enough as the Alameda Merchants fell to the Top Speed Baseball 7-6 on Sunday.

Armstrong racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Alameda Merchants. He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

The Top Speed Baseball couldn't get anything going as long as Armstrong was on the mound. Armstrong held the Top Speed Baseball hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Alex Sortwell racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Top Speed Baseball. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Cole Wiliams improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Top Speed Baseball. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Zachary Wong was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
