The Melville Millionaires (11-12) took home a 9-3 victory over the Yorkton Cardinals (9-14) on Sunday at Pirie Field, fueled by four runs in the seventh inning.
Jose Fortuna racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Melville Millionaires. He tripled in the fourth inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Jeremy Newton put together a nice outing. Newton held the Yorkton Cardinals hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Homero Ortiz recorded his third win of the year for the Melville Millionaires. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Ortiz struck out five, walked two and gave up 12 hits.
Matt Bowles ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked two and struck out none.
