Kavin Patel went 1-3, sparking the South Bay Storm (4-5) to an 8-3 victory over the Alameda Merchants (3-1) on Tuesday at College of Alameda.
He singled in the fourth inning.The Alameda Merchants had no answer for Spencer Lamb, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Lamb held the Alameda Merchants hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Ricky Delgado looked sharp on the mound. The South Bay Storm managed just one hit off of the the Alameda Merchants' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his three innings of work.
Ben Sneider improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the South Bay Storm. He allowed three runs over six innings. Sneider struck out one, walked none and gave up nine hits.
Joel Deporte (0-1) took the loss for the Alameda Merchants. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
