The Walnut Creek Crawdads shut the door early on the San Francisco Seagulls (0-3), capturing an 11-2 victory on Saturday at Fairmont Field.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Walnut Creek Crawdads to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Allen Smoot and a two-run double by Mitch McGreen during the first inning and an RBI triple by Nikko Saenz, a sacrifice fly by Smoot, and an RBI single by Steven Hazel in the second inning helped the Walnut Creek Crawdads put some runs on the board early.

Saenz had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.

The San Francisco Seagulls couldn't get anything going as long as Ben Krauth was on the mound. Krauth gave up just four hits, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one during his five innings of work.

Gino Franco racked up two RBIs on three hits for the San Francisco Seagulls. He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

David Moody ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out three.

The Walnut Creek Crawdads were sparked by Tony DiLeo and Saenz, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
