An ace performance by Ryan Castadio lifted the Medicine Hat Mavericks (39-7) to a 5-0 win over the Edmonton Prospects (6-40) on Monday at Jefferies Park.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks' Castadio kept the Edmonton Prospects off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out eight.

Bryan Arthur racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Cory Duggan (2-6) took the loss for the Edmonton Prospects. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
