An excellent effort by Cory Carter spurred the Regina Red Sox (11-14) to a 6-5 win over the Weyburn Beavers (8-17) on Thursday at Currie Field.
Carter kept contact to a minimum, striking out 13 the Weyburn Beavers batters. The Regina Red Sox's pitcher gave up just two hits over seven shutout innings.
Eric Baker was solid at the plate for the Regina Red Sox. Baker went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and fourth innings.
Kyle Larson couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Weyburn Beavers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked four and struck out two.
