The Weyburn Beavers (6-9) beat the Moose Jaw Miller Express (7-11) 4-3 on Thursday at Tom Laing Park behind Ryan Bourcier, who had two extra base hits.

Jon Cotter had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fifth inning and tripled in the ninth inning.

Daniel Brown improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Weyburn Beavers. Brown struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

Marshall Dean couldn't get it done on the mound for the Moose Jaw Miller Express, taking a loss. He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
