The Medicine Hat Mavericks (13-2) beat the Moose Jaw Miller Express (6-10) 6-2 on Tuesday at Ross Wells Park behind Ched Gaskin, who had two extra base hits.

He doubled in the second and third innings and singled in the eighth inning.

Billy Martin recorded his first win of the year for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed two runs over six innings. Martin struck out seven, walked none and gave up nine hits.

Caplette was charged with his first loss of the year.
