A magnificent effort by DJ Boschmann carried the Lethbridge Bulls (4-6) to a 10-3 win over the Melville Millionaires (5-5) on Friday at Pirie Field.
Boschmann rocked the Melville Millionaires with two home runs. Boschmann went 3-4 in the game with five RBIs and four runs scored. Boschmann homered in the seventh and eighth innings.
The Lethbridge Bulls left no doubt in the outcome with three runs in the eighth. A three-run home run by Boschmann delivered the runs in the eighth. The Lethbridge Bulls had two hits in the inning.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the second, with four lead changes.
The Melville Millionaires had no answer for Tyson Hudson, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Hudson held the Melville Millionaires hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Cam Ellis improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lethbridge Bulls. He allowed two runs over five innings. Ellis struck out seven, walked three and gave up five hits.
Vance Woodruff (0-2) took the loss for the Melville Millionaires. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked six and struck out six.
