McCarthy's walk-off single send the Roswell Invaders home winners, 5-4

A walk-off single from Mike McCarthy brought home the winning run for the Roswell Invaders (50-17) in a 5-4 victory over the White Sands Pupfish at Joe Bauman Park on Thursday.

McCarthy paced the Roswell Invaders at the plate. McCarthy went 2-5 and drove in one. He singled in the sixth and ninth innings.

Erick Gaylord had two extra-base hits for the Roswell Invaders. He doubled in the seventh inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Jacob Cook allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out two over six innings of work.

A bright spot for the White Sands Pupfish (26-43) in the defeat was Brian Chudy, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Mike Londino improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Roswell Invaders. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Justin Mauldin ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The Roswell Invaders were sparked by Gaylord and Roger Bernal, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
