The Roswell Invaders (40-15) jumped on the Alpine Cowboys (34-21) early on their way to an 8-3 win on Thursday at Kokernot Field, scoring four runs in the first inning.

Ryan Normoyle racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Roswell Invaders. He singled in the second, fourth, and seventh innings.

Eric Berkowitz looked sharp on the mound. Berkowitz held the Alpine Cowboys hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Matt Scruggs was solid at the plate for the Alpine Cowboys. Scruggs went 1-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He tripled in the second inning.

Ed Kohout recorded his fifth win of the year for the Roswell Invaders. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered three hits.

Josh Cruse (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
