An impressive effort by Bryson Sims lifted the Santa Fe Fuego (23-24) to a 13-7 win over the Raton Osos (7-40) on Monday at Fort Marcy Park.
Sims rocked the Raton Osos with two home runs. Sims went 4-4 in the game with three RBIs and four runs scored. Sims homered in the second and fifth innings.
Matt Lynch hit two home runs for the Raton Osos. Lynch went 4-5 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Lynch homered in the first, third, and third innings.
The Santa Fe Fuego blew out the Raton Osos thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Santa Fe Fuego scored five runs in the fifth on a solo home run by Devonte Odums, a three-run home run by Evan Mansell, and a solo home run by Sims.
Forest Carpenter looked sharp on the mound. Carpenter held the Raton Osos hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out three.
Even though Kevin Camacho allowed seven runs over six innings he still recorded the victory, his fourth of the season. Camacho struck out five, walked two and gave up nine hits.
Willie Frederick (1-7) took the loss for the Raton Osos. He allowed nine runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.
