A great day by Ryan Hinson wasn't enough to carry the Wichita Wingnuts (4-4) to a win on Thursday, as the Wichita Wingnuts fell to the New Jersey Jackals 1-0 at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.

Hinson handled the New Jersey Jackals' lineup with ease, racking up 13 strikeouts. Hinson allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks over eight innings.

Jose Cuevas put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the New Jersey Jackals. He doubled in the second and eighth innings.

Craig Heyer held the Wichita Wingnuts scoreless for seven innings. Heyer struck out three and allowed no walks and five hits.

Hinson was charged with his first loss of the year.
