The Newark Bears (0-2) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Rockland Boulders (2-0) on Friday, as the Newark Bears fell 3-1 at Bears_Eagles Riverfront Stadium after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.

The Newark Bears scored one run in the third on a solo home run by Brandon Mims. Despite their efforts, the Newark Bears couldn't finish the comeback.

Chris Edmondson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Rockland Boulders. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

Pat Moran struck out nine hitters en route to the the Rockland Boulders win. Moran allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over six innings.

Brian Parker (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
