An outstanding effort by Chris Gehsen led the The Wet Bandits (2-0) to a 9-8 win in seven innings over the Easton Fection (0-2) on Monday at East Islip Marina Field #4.

Gehsen blasted two home runs for the The Wet Bandits. Gehsen went 3-4 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Gehsen homered in the fourth and fifth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 17 total runs and 29 hits during the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game.

The The Wet Bandits would not relinquish the lead as the Easton Fection were unable to weather a four-run fifth inning deficit.

The Easton Fection scored three runs in the seventh on a double by Josh Kasin, a single by Joe Valle, a triple by Bobby Palmer, and 2s. Still, the Easton Fection couldn't draw even.

Even though Justin Santillo allowed eight runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out none, walked five and surrendered 14 hits.

Derek Gremaux ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out none.
