The USSSA Pride jump on the Akron Racers early and coast to 12-1 win

Story by Narrative Science.

The USSSA Pride (26-11) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Akron Racers (13-23), recording a 12-1 victory on Friday at Firestone Stadium.

Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the USSSA Pride to put the game away early.

A groundout by Kristyn Sandberg during the first inning and a solo home run by Andrea Duran, , a two-run single by Caitlin Lowe, a single by Kelly Kretschman, and a wild pitch in the second inning fueled the USSSA Pride's offense early.

Duran had two extra-base hits for the USSSA Pride.

Brittany Mack (2-4) took the loss for the Akron Racers. She allowed eight runs in two innings, walked two and struck out one.

The USSSA Pride's Ashley Charters, Francesca Enea, Duran and Natasha Watley combined for eight hits and five RBIs.
