The Akron Racers (7-13) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 7-3 to the Chicago Bandits (16-4) on Thursday.

The Chicago Bandits took the lead in the sixth inning on a passed ball.

Alisa Goler racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Chicago Bandits. She singled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.

The Akron Racers were led by Brianna Turang's hitting. Turang went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the first and fifth innings.

Michelle Gascoigne improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Chicago Bandits. She allowed three runs over seven innings. She struck out two, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Brittany Mack (1-1) took the loss for the Akron Racers. She lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
