The NY/NJ Comets (1-2) outlasted the USSSA Pride (2-1) on Monday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 4-3 win at Osceola Co Stadium.
The NY/NJ Comets took the lead in the eighth inning and held on for the victory. Scored Amanda Kamekona and gave the NY/NJ Comets the lead for good.
The NY/NJ Comets held off the USSSA Pride, as the USSSA Pride were unable to overcome a two-run eighth inning deficit.
The USSSA Pride scored one run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Haruna Sakamoto. Unfortunately, the USSSA Pride weren't able to take the lead back.
Olivia Galati picked up the win for the NY/NJ Comets. Galati pitched eight innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out one.
Jordan Taylor (1-1) took the loss for the USSSA Pride. She lasted just eight innings, walked four, struck out 13, and allowed four runs.
