The Danville Dans (28-12) shut the door early on the Quincy Gems (28-14), capturing an 8-0 victory on Sunday at Quincy Stadium.

The game was decided quickly as the Danville Dans exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Casey Fletcher and an RBI double by Chet Simoneaux in the first inning fueled the Danville Dans' offense early.

Corbin Olmstead racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Danville Dans. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

The Quincy Gems couldn't get anything going as long as Zach Gordon was pitching. The Quincy Gems managed just three hits off of Gordon, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Brady Arenson (0-1) took the loss for the Quincy Gems. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked two and struck out six.
