A walk-off from Sam Maus brought home the winning run for the Danville Dans (25-11) in a 5-4 victory over the Quincy Gems (25-12) at Danville Stadium on Friday.
Maus racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Danville Dans. He singled in the second and sixth innings.
Jacob Thomas was solid at the plate for the Danville Dans. Thomas went 3-5 and scored one run. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the fifth and ninth innings.
Trey McNickle pitched lights out for the Danville Dans. The Quincy Gems managed just one hit off of McNickle, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none during his three innings of work.
Mitch Holtz got the win, running his season record to 5-0. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.
