The West Virginia Miners (20-12) beat the Butler Blue Sox (16-16) 3-2 in seven innings on Wednesday at Linda K. Epling Stadium behind Nick Paxton, who went 2-3.

Kris Cayton went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Butler Blue Sox. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Quinton Yocom improved to 3-3 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed one run over six innings. Yocom struck out three, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Brett Sullivan couldn't get it done on the hill for the Butler Blue Sox, taking a loss. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
