The Lorain County Ironmen (11-16) beat the Chillicothe Paints 8-2 on Thursday at VA Memorial Stadium after a five-run explosion in the eighth inning.
The Chillicothe Paints (15-12) jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Chillicothe Paints led until the eighth inning, but the Lorain County Ironmen took the lead back.
Zach Ratcliff got on base four times in the game for the Lorain County Ironmen. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.
The Lorain County Ironmen relied on Caleb Schillace to eat up innings en route to the win. Schillace allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.
Andrew Marra (0-1) took the loss for the Chillicothe Paints. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
